using http://www.county-surnames.co.uk/ ?
« on: Saturday 10 April 04 19:12 BST (UK) »
Hi

I saw a banner advert for http://www.county-surnames.co.uk/
and I think It was from this rootschat website.

Has anyone used the above site?

I am a bit dubious as the submit form sends you to the email address at the site and not directly to the person submitting their surname. Also the amount of adverts on the site is a bit off putting. Trouble is I have some good surname matches there!

thanks
Mark

Mark,

I can confirm that they are one of the people that asked for a free banner, and we gave them a free banner. I don't think you have to pay to use their site, but the concept behind their site is to register a surname interest in a particular county which is a new idea.

I'd be interested too to hear of people's experiences with that site too. :)

I've used this site for a while now and never had any problems, in fact its very useful for contacting people who are researching the same surname.

All the e-mail link does is send you to a web based form which is common practice these days, much better than displaying your full e-mail address on a website.
