I saw the above post and thought that I would reply as I have   an interest in the name Storrs of Lincolnshire.  My great Grandfather George Storrs was born in Stow and married a lady called Ann Tether formerly Kirman.  I do not have a lot of info on the Storrs family so would be interested to see if there is any relationship there.

Beeson of Lincolnshire, Leicester and Nottingham
Storrs/Stores of Lincolnshire
Kirman of Lincolnshire
Spicer of Colsterworth and Woolsthorpe and Long Bennington

What part of Lincs are your MORLEY ancestors from?  Mine are from Long Bennington and Grantham but prior to this they came from Orston, Notts and earlier still from Willloughby-on-the-Hill, Notts.  My Morley grandmother born in Grantham in 1888.  Please get in touch if there is a link.

I am sorry I appear to have mislead you in that in my message yesterday I had actually copied the first message as it had been some time since it was posted and thought that it might jog some memories.  Sorry am new to this web site and so messed that.  I am in fact researching Storrs which was a name that also appeared in the original posting.  However I am also researching Spicer and Beeson.  My great grandparents lived in Long Bennington and are buried there.  Many of my relatives are also buried there and some descendents still live there.  The name there that I am researching is Spicer.  Storrs came from Stow and parts therby.  Beeson came from South Witham.

Hello Penny

My Storr family came from Swineshead and Osbournby, in the 17th century.

The surname first joined my family when Anne Storr, bap. 1660 Swineshead, married Nicholas Longbottom in 1685. Is this too early for you? I'm afraid I have no details of any Storrs later than this.

Regards

Brenda

Hello Janmoon

I have no record of a Longbottom emmigrant. Maybe you can give me more details of your stay-at-home relatives? Must be in the 18th or 17th centuries though, I have no recent records, the surname joining my family when a Jane Longbottom married Thomas Mallet in 1734 in Tydd St Mary.  All my family were in the Spalding area back to mid 1600s but where they came from before that is a mystery. Maybe you can help me find them?
