Rickmansworth

Can anyone help point me in the right direction? Please.
I am trying to track the Goodman family from Rickmansworth but am having trouble establishing which county its in. Sometimes it says Hants, then Middlesex, or even Hereford?
I have some info  Ernest Obid Goodman who was born in 12/8/1880 southwark but its his dad I'm having trouble with
George I know he married Emma Collett 20th jan 1862 in Kentish Town Middlesex.
I think emma came from harefield + george from rickmansworth but cant seem to find anything earlier than 1871 census which puts them in Bermondsey !

As I have ancestors from the area - Rickmansworth is in Hertfordshire (unless there is another Rickmansworth) - according to my gazetteer it is 3 miles WSW of Watford.

jjq just got in before me - Rickmansworth is in Hertfordshire now, its very close to Watford.  It might have changed County, and if so the nearest counties are Buckinghamshire and Berkshire.

Rickmansworth is in West Hertfordshire. Harefield is in Middlesex but very close to Rickmansworth.

This could be you George & family from the 1851 census.

Sarah Goodman wife 46 born Great Gaddesdon

Mary Goodman dau 22 born Rickmansworth

John Goodman son 14 born Rickmansworth

Thomas Goodman son 12 born Rickmansworth

Henry Goodman son 10 born Rickmansworth

GEORGE Goodman son 7 born Rickmansworth

Ann Goodman dau 3 born Rickmansworth.

They are living in the Hamlet of Batchworth. If I can help any more with Rickmansworth just ask. I know it quite well, I grew up there.

My great grand father was Ernest obid goodman and my grandad was his son Arthur Albert goodman. I can give you more information if you wish?

I think he is also listed as OBED

There is a family tree in Ancestry which points to Goodman  abode as being  Southwark areas
