Hi, I have the same question about Patrick Burke; (Convict No. 5151), the Fremantle Prison Convict records have the note: Left Western Australia per Hestree, 27 May 1861. Did anyone find out what this actually means?

You also might be interested: Patrick Burke and Catherine Donoghue had a daughter; Matilda Mary Burke in 1869, she married Michael James Barry, the son of another convict;  Richard Luke Barry (Convict No. 314) and Bridget Brennan (she received a ticket of leave and came across on a bride ship from England).

Any information on Patrick Burke or Richard Luke Barry would be appreciated.

Welcome to Rootschat.

It means he sailed from WA on the ship, named the HESTREE. However, I can’t see any other reference to a vessel of that name.
