Hi,does anyone have any information on GIGRIN FARM,Radnorshire? Ive traced my family back to living there in abt 1860's. Thanks ;D

Alyson, welcome to rootschat.

Have you thought of googling to find the name of the nearest public library to where the farmis/was and emailing them to ask if they can tell you about it?   They may have a Local Studies section that specialises in such things.

the other option is that if the farm is in a tiny community why not write to the Postmaster and ask if the farm still exists etc?
 I have followed both these approaches and had help.

Hi Charlotte.thanks for your reply. Yes i have emailed the farm,but not heard anything off them. Just thought that maybe someone would have a little information.

Sorry to have crossed wires then... was just a thought. I did it with a farm I was interested in and got a very warm response.

Thanks again for your reply Charlotte,i shouldve put it in the heading that ive contacted the farm. Sorry!!.i will let you know what happens,just seem to hitting a brick wall at the mo lol x

Alyson, Another idea... ask in a separate post if anyone can look up a recent electoral roll for that district to see who livesat that place.  the rolls are arranged by address not surname which suits you... never suits me. !  Put as the subject something like Electoral roll lookup in XXXX

Try it.. try everthing is my rule and eventually something gives and t\you nudge forward..
