Yes, I think we are at the moment!

I would like to know though if Marianne and George's marriage registration states whether she is a spinster or a widow, because if she's a spinster, that would probably have made her William Lionel Pyne's mistress ;).

Julia Augusta Pyne's marriage to Edward Colebrooke Miller was at St. George's, Hanover Square, which is a protestant church.  I don't know about William Rowland Pyne's marriage to Louisa Hamblin, but it may have been in the Falkland Islands as that is where their first son was born in 1864.

Hello Ros,

I am fairly certain that I accurately transcribed the marriage registration and it did not state whether she was either a widow or spinster.

Tomorrow evening, I shall go to the archive and get a copy - just to double check.

I have considered the possibility that Eliza was someone's mistress. But having five children out of wedlock was surely a bit extreme.

I'll keep you posted.
