Link: Australian Local History, New Source at the Libraries
« on: Saturday 23 August 08 01:34 BST (UK) »
H All,

Until recently Prahran Institute Library has held books relating only to Victorian local History.  This is a large collection and well indexed for access.

My newsletter from them today advises they have received a bequest of more than 2,500 books including titles on  Tasmania, NSW SA, Qld & WA. which will now form part of the collection.

Quote: "The first step was to add the books to the database of Australian Librarby hodings- Libraries Australia

 http://librariesaustralia.nla.gov.au

This task has been completed now and anyone who consults that database will be made aware of our holdings and can have access to them through interlibrary loan"  end Quote.

I thought this new source may be of interst to R Chatters all round Australia.

Here is the Prahran Mechanics Institute Library website for your interest.
