Joseph Bird Family in Kent

New to this board - hope someone can help me.  My grgrandfather, Joseph Bird Esq. of Dublin Ireland, was originally from Kent. Joseph disowned my grandfather at a tender age and we Canadian descendents have no idea about this side of the family.  (An Aunt made overtures about 40 years ago and was soundly rebuffed and told to shove off.) Would anyone have Joseph Bird appearing on any Census in Kent?  He was born in 1860 and married Edith Challen of Brighton in 1888 before they moved to Dublin.  Hoping someone can help me with this family mystery

I've been looking for them in 1871 Census ... can't find Joseph yet ... have you got his father's name from his marriage certificate?

Hi Jen - thanks for doing this for me!  I know your posting is mine!Edith Challen married my great grfather in Sept 1888, in Brighton.  And yes, would love to have the image.  Thanks!!!
I wish I had their marriage certificate - might be able to glean more info about Joseph.  The only info I have on him is that his name was Joseph Bird, from Kent.
Someone replied yesterday and found a George Bird in Beckenham with two sons, John and Joseph, which is promising.  My father's name was George.  I feel like I am so close but just can't seem to find supporting data on Joseph.  Brdtrd
