Do you know where this was, I'm assuming Glasgow?

I checked the Glasgow postal directory 1927 which is online, here: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~glasgow/index-glas.htm

Ship Chandlers is under Professions p. 1529.  There's no Oriental Chandlers or any sign of a Gallagher, but there is a Craig of Craig, Peter & Co. Ltd, 49, 51, Brown Street.

Not sure that helps you at all!

Lora.
