1891

12 Stanton St, Camberwell

George TYLER head mar 34 gen lab
Susan wife 33 laundress
Alice dau 5
Florence dau 4
Emily dau 2

All born Camberwell

RG12/474 folio 7 page 7

I'd think that it's probably necessary to get a birth certificate for one of the children to ascertain Susan's maiden name and then look for the parents' marriage before going back further in the census with any certainty for this family.

Hi Robraw & Casalguidi,

Thankyou both so very much for the Dinmore/Tyler lookups.  These are definitely the right families and I know now they were definitely in the same area over a period of time.

As for the birth certificate idea, I think I have found Alice on 1837online and will order certificate to confirm mothers maiden name, which I think may be Williams, I can't wait to find out now.

Once again a huge thankyou!!

Sandie, I answered part of you ? a few days ago.
I must have been having a senior moment, not recognising the name Dinmore, though the address made me look for an answer for you.
My Mothers family came from Peckham and lived in Sumner Rd (and Lisford St which is part of Sumner Rd)

My GG Aunt Jane Elizabeth Read, AKA Jenny married Jack Dinmore (John William) in the late 1890's.  Part of the Read family (her sister) lived at 224 Sumner Rd.
Now I am wondering if there could be a connection with your Dinmore family.  Have you come across a John William Dinmore (known as Jack) born c 1873 married 1895 in Camberwell I think St Saviour's.

Hi Robyn,

I do have a John Dinmore b. 1873 but unfortunately I don't know if he had a middle name.

Like so many, I didn't think of researching my family while my parents were around to give me info.  All I can remember is my mother telling me that her father James (Jumbo) Dinmore was the last in his line of rope makers.  I also know they always lived in and around the Camberwell area, but I'm afraid that it's.

It would be great if my John was one and the same as yours, this would give me a little more info. on my grandfathers family that I know so little about.

Sorry, it's me AGAIN!  I'm still having trouble finding my Collyer/Collier family in either 1871 or 1891.  I posted a request on the Sussex board, as two children were born there, someone kindly did a look up for me but they couldn't find them so I thought I'd try Surrey again.

I have scanned Ancestry's site, but can't find any obvious matches, so I was wondering - before wasting £6 on missed hits - if anyone has the census CDs and wouldn't mind looking for them and passing on piece/folio nos. for me, I would be extremely grateful.

Thanks,

Sandie

Hi Sandie

They don't appear to be showing up easily ................. what else do you have?  Any birth/marriage details for any of the children?  1901 census?  Anything at all?

Hi Casalguidi

I know what you mean, I've looked for them all over the place with no luck.  I'm afraid I don't have much info. at all apart from Ellen, my gr.mother.
This is all I have:

Ellen was born in 1880, address 2 Crown Terrace, Crown Street, Camberwell.
In 1881 the family lived at 64 Hollington Street, Camberwell.  She married in December 1900, address 92 Cator Street, Peckham.
In 1901 she was living with her husband and daughter at 39 Acorn Place, Camberwell.

Unfortunately that's all I have.  I cannot seem to find any info. of any kind for anyone else in the family, they've just disappeared!

Thanks for your help.
