I am looking for info on a Michael Cheyne known to be working in Selkirk town as a plumber (poss other trades?) in 1859.  Can anyone help?
Thank you.

I too have Cheyne's in my family. I haven't come across any Michael's yet. I thought you may be interested in looking at this site, as it contains quite a bit of information with regards to the Cheyne family.  www.rootsweb.com/~cheyne/

I found my family listed on this site.
Alexander Cheyne married to Marjory Youngson
Daughter Helen

Hope this helpls you.

There was a William Cheyne, plumber, aged 30, living with his family in High St, Selkirk in 1861.
