Hi everyone,

Thanks very much for your suggestions.

I do not know if she was married before or had children previously - but never heard of any !!!!

All I know is she was a nurse to Fred Pattison's first wife - who died 1912, in London.   I don't know of any other children with her and Fred.

Her headstone in West Pennard (near Glastonbury) Somerset says she died 31st October 1935 aged 56.  She is my husband's gran, so it would be lovely if could find out more about her and her family.

Given her age, she could have been married before.  If free bmd is showing Bellamy as the son's mum's name - that would be her maiden name ???

I can't find any links on Genes Reunited for the Boscombe Elizabeth Bellamy so no way of checking if that is her.

Thanks,
from
Angela. :) :)

Is Elizabeth the sole occupant of the grave?
Have you actually seen the headstone?

I agree with Liz. I think you need birth cert. for her son, preferably the one who must be your grandfather ???

I am trying to find the birth place of Elizabeth Bellamy.  I know she was 55 when she died in 1935 making her d o b 1880.

No wonder I couldn't find her first time round- she was 56 when she died not 55  ::)

So she's the Elizabeth Pattison who died in Dec 1935 age 56 in Wells ref 5c page 511

Do you have the death cert with an address on it?

Carol

Hi

Oops !! sorry for wrong age - I've just looked up the photo of grave and noticed 56.

Yes, she is the only one buried in the grave - her husband died in 1949 and was buried back in London with his first wife.

I have a short birth certificate for her son, my father-in-law, would there be a fuller one with more info as this only states when and where born - not parents.  Where do I get it from? What would it show about her though?

I don't have her death certificate - but it won't tell me anything more than we know - would it?

Cheers
from
Angela.

Sorry, just re-read your post. A birth cert will give both parents' names, mother's maiden name and an address as well as name of child.

Hello

Thanks to all of you who gave me info about tracing Elizabeth Bellamy -  it would seem that only her marriage certificate (not death or son's births) will give me her place of birth.  So unless it's in England or Wales and will appear on free BMD I don't have much chance of finding out more about her or her family - or I can find a contact on Genes Reunited.  She could have been from any country and married there.

Thanks again
