DREWE at Shaw cum Donnington - completed
« on: Tuesday 02 September 08 11:01 BST (UK) »
I understand that there is a list of memorial inscriptions from St Mary's at Shaw cum Donnington that has been published by the Berkshire Family History Society.

I wonder if any kind RootsChatter has access to this list and could possibly look up one Richard Drewe

I know that Richard Drewe died in 1811 and was buried at S c D, having married Elizabeth Ellis in 1786, but would love to find out any other information about him, especially his year of birth - maybe there is still a stone standing?

Yours, optimistically

Dear Vicwinann and Newburychap

Thank you for your interest and time.

So, no mention of him in the Shaw MIs but I do now have a clue to his birth date.  Could well be the man I'm after!

Thank you.

Have just discovered these postings regarding the Drewe’s in Berkshire. Richard Drewe (died c1811) buried at Shaw cum Donnington, is 4x great grandfather of mine. I have been unable to find anything more about his origins, but I do know he was a schoolmaster. One of his sons, Aurelius, is recorded on the Berkshire electoral register for 1840 as having property in Shaw cum Donnington, although he was then living in Somerset. Any more leads on Richard Drewe’s connection with Shaw would be most gratefully received.
