Denotify?
« on: Wednesday 03 September 08 13:08 BST (UK) »
I should know this!  How do I denotify a topic that is no longer of interest?  If I click on the topic on notify I am asked if I want notification!  Either OK meaning yes or cancel.  Choosing cancel just seems to mean cancel the message.

Am I missing something?

Hi abiam

If you've got a message on the thread, there's no way of de-notifying. I have some popping up after ages.

Here's a link:

Just hit "notify" again and you will get a pop up asking you to confirm if you want notification disabled.
Sorry Gadget.

That only works if you've not posted on the thread, Dave

Gadget, I do it successfully all the time.
Try it with this thread and check back later to see if there have been further posts.
I'll post another response say about 2pm just as a test.
I'm intrigued now.

Hi Dave

Ithink we're talking at cross purposes. I don't have any e-mail notifications of anything. My e-mail box would be overloaded!  I was referring to the 'new replies'

Ah! I see what you mean.
I was talking about email notifications.  I still got the message in "Show new replies to your posts" - I tend not to use that and rely on email.

Now that I have re-read the link you sent, I see the same confusion arose in that too.  I didn't follow it at first.
