May I politely request a "mark all posts read" button, then?

Passed on to Admin :)

Thank you, Bob -  hopefully we'll get a reponse.  If it's a "no", I'd be interested to know the reason.

Hi!

I came into this forum specifically looking for a 'mark all posts read' button as I figured I must be missing something somewhere!  I agree, it would be great, personal preference of course.

Hi Newf

No, I haven't seen anything so far.  I can't understand the wall of silence.

There are two other minor tweaks that could be easily done that would save an awful lot of scrolling.  A "return to top" button at the foot of each page; and changing the default on the Search function so that all categories are unticked.

This site is a marvellous resource, but not very user-friendly.

I also agree about "return to top" button as well

Not surprised frankly - its been my experience and that of those who had Web Space on here, and then lost a lot of work.

Obviously maintaining the technical integrity of this site is quite an undertaking, so I'm sympathetic to the 'squeaky wheel' approach .... but I cant understand why other suggestions are totally stonewalled - perhaps a postcard (as suggested in the home page) would work   :P

Theres a work-around for the 'Return to Top' feature - use the 'Home' key ....  ;)

Oh come on folks, how difficult is that?!! If they're left unticked there will be people complaining that they wanted them ticked. What's that quote - "You can please some of the people some of the time......."

Although it would be good to have a 'mark as read' button, what's the point of marking all posts as read? Just don't look at them! Or am I being thick?  ???
