There may well be a common ancestor between us as my Knights also came from Therfield, Hertfordshire. I come from the Daniel(b.1779) and Elizabeth,-Daniel (1812)and Ann,-Thomas(b.1845) and Susan Knights Line. Do those names ring any bells?Have you taken a look at www.therfield.net , I have found that site very useful.

HI again

Yes indeed, those names ring bells. That is the same line as my friends. ;D

Her Grandfather was a son of Thomas Daniel & Susan, he married & lived in Watford. :D

We did use Therfield.net & I found a lot of births & christenings on the BVRI for the Knights in Therfield, particularly all of Thomas Daniels children with his 2 wives. ;)

If you would like any more info on my friends line do send me a PM.  :)

Regarding Martha Marlborough, I believe she is my x3 great grandmother.
Her maiden name was England. My x2 great grandmother, Ann was the youngest child and I believe Martha died shortly after her birth. Other children of Martha and husband Stephen were Thomas, Mary, William & Elizabeth.
Is this the same family as yours?
Stephen married again, but unfortunately most of his children from the second marriage died in infancy.

This does seem to be the same family, Proud to be welsh. Stephen Marlborough married Martha England at St Mary's Parish Church, Watford, Herts 15th October 1806. But seems to have moved to Abbots Langley which was a village not far away. Our line comes down through Stephen and Martha's son Thomas(born c.1807) who married Harriet Smith and had 7 children with her;Stephen, William, Charles,George, Mary, Thomas and Joseph.

Thanks for the reply Gembar. I too have the same date of marriage (IGI sourced) for Martha and Stephen. I have also found Thomas's line and have marriages and families for most of his children. (I have found 11 from baptisms etc.)
I know nothing about the parentages of Stephen & Martha. However, I have plenty of information through Ann's line. Her mother must have died when she was only weeks old.
Ann married into the Barnes family from Charlwood. Her youngest daughter Louisa was my x2 great grandmother. From the Barnes line, there are families all over the world. I have a couple of photos of Ann late on in life. (She died in 1902.)
I would be willing to share any info with you
