Thank you for your message.  Am a bit confused as to how this works, but maybe this will count as my 2nd posting?  Will be in touch when I have posted another!

Regards
Jenny

How very exciting to come across this message board! John Plews snr, Civil Engineer, is my GG grandfather, his son, Edward William Plews, doctor, is my G Grandfather and he emigrated to Australia in 1850s. I would dearly love to make contact with other descendants of this family line. This is my first post, so will hurry and make another two as I would dearly love a copy of the bible information, please Chris in 1066 if you still have it available. Cheers from Australia, Sharon

Hi Sharon
Really interesting to read your message.  I think I know who your John Plews was, he is connected to my Plews line but a long way back (1700s).  Didn't know his son had emigrated though.  There are more Plewses in Australia and NZ so can probably fill you in on some things.  Will contact you again when I have had time to check it.
Regards
Jenny

Hello Jenny
my John Plews was born in Thornton Steward 1 May 1795, son of a farmer, married Margaret Tomlin 28 January 1817 at St Catherine's, Merstham, Surrey. John rose to prominence as civil engineer, working for Banks & Jolliffe. I have come across other Plews' from the family who also migrated to Australia and we never knew this before, so not surprising you didn't know about our family migrating. I am descended from Edward William, second son of John & Margaret. Edward was a doctor. I have a record of 9 children of John & Margaret's union, 7 boys & 2 girls, with first girl, Elizabeth (b circa 1819), I have come to believe died in infancy. I have no connections earlier than John other than as stated he was son of a farmer. I do know John had a brother William as he is named in John's Will. I will look forward to further communication with you. Cheers, Sharon

Sorry, but the e-mail address you sent me via private message does not exist as the photographs I sent to that address have bounced back with the message that it can not be found.
Did you misstype it?

Can you send an alternative address please (via private message of course)

Hi Chris,
Recently came across your post re: finding a bible containing family tree information on the PLEWS family.

I am a Plews descendent, born and living in Sydney, Australia. My Dad (90 years young) is a Plews from Glasgow who migrated to Sydney in the 1950’s. I have been able to trace some of his Plews descendents back to Yorkshire thru Matthew Archibald Plews born in Ripon, Yorkshire, England around 11 April 1818 - he married a Margaret Cossar.

If still available, I would dearly love to get a copy of your bible extracts of the PLEWS family.

Regards,
   Sandi
