Hi there - my Uncle was Peter Geraghty from Navan.  What I remember about him was that he was married and his first wife died very young approx 24.  He then remarried and we always called her Auntie Nan.

He owned and ran a furniture factory in Navan.  Some of his siblings would have been my Mum, Angela Geraghty, Aunties, Maggie Geraghty, Uncles, Tom Geraghty.  My grandparents lived on Brews Hill in Navan - dont remember much about them unfortunately.

Dont know if this helps - let me know if you think it is the same person

Cheers
Dorothy

Hi Dorothy.

Peter Geraghtys wife's name was originally Nan Mc Larney. Angela,
Tom and Maggie were brother and sisters of Peter.

Tom Geraghty passed away a few years ago. He was my uncle, and
his wife *, is my aunt. (My mother sister) She must be about 80
and still hale and healthy.

She has a son * in Sydney, *  and * in Navan, and *
also in Sydney.

If you look for the Navan Coal Company, you will find Colum who will
have more detail.

I now live in Kells, since 1980.

Hello Tom - thank you for your reply.  Sorry for not replying sooner but I have been overseas for a while and just catching up with all the emails.  Wow - a living breathing relative of mine.   I think a remember another Geraghty sister called Annie and I remembered Tom's wife's name was Carmel - glad to hear that she is still going strong - a lovely woman.  Are you a relative of Carmels?

Through the internet, I have located the graves of my Mother, Auntie Mag and my Grandparents so another connection made  there.  I now live in Brisbane and have been trying to contact my cousin Paul in Sydney with no luck.

Would love to hear from you - my email is * if you would like to keep in touch.

Cheers and kind regards

Hi Dorothy.

I'm not able to reply to you directly, as the moderator cut out your
email address. You can find mine if you use google to search for
Birchwood B&B in Kells, County Meath. The web page is
www.balrath.net

I'm sure direct emails would sort this out quickly.

Hi Dorothy.

Am I on the right trail?  I will call up to Ursula during the week.

======== copy ==

I remember Dorothy and Helene her sister. Their dad John used to come down to cemetry Sunday. He was so nice. We would have a great chat. I think it was about 82 or 83 that Dorothy went to Australia. I must say it to Ursula.
Hope you are enjoying the good weather.
Colette

I too am looking for current details of Peter Geraghty who migrated to Australia from Ireland.
He had a cousin Paul and 2 children. Eldest a daughter who was married and lived in Melbourne and a son of the same name who was a good surfer from Kiama.
My mother was his second wife and when she died we lost contact.
