Williams in Tryddyn, and Mold.
« on: Saturday 13 September 08 17:12 BST (UK) »
I have a family of Williams......mostly called Edward....
I have them in the English census when they went to Dearham Cumberland.
But in the Welsh ones I just cant find them.
Part of the problem is the changing of given place of birth.
Edward 2 was born either 1816 or 1820/2 in Maybe Hope r Northop....but i am not convinced on either.
His father Edward 1 was born in Mold I think abt 1790 ish.
I don't know the name of his wife.

Edward 2 married at least twice, the first gave hi at least one son..John born Tryddyn 1854
There is one on the 1861 with a grandmother Elizabeth so perhaps Edward 2 mother is Elizabeth.

Edward 2 married Ann Plummer from Distington in 1860 in Wrexham.
But their two sons Thomas and my g.grandfather Edward (3) were born in Tryddyn.
although it seem that Edward 3 was actually born in the Griffin pub in Llanbedr.

I apologise if this straddles borders...but some if  not all of this is rooted in Flintshire.

Can anyone help please.

Thanks very much.

Well the Elizabeth Williams in 1861 with the Grandson John could of course be Edward born in c 1818's Mother?

In the extracted parish records for Mold there is a Baptism of an Edward Williams on the 8th of July 1820 to Parents Edward and Elizabeth Williams.

Hello again and apologies.
Since I changed to a new pc, for some reason I am not getting notification of message posted to me.
I am sorry, I must look very rude, but I only found your response by chance.

this Edward could well be mine. Especially with the Elizabeth as mother.
I do hope it is him, although I am not sure what I do with that information in order to go back further.l

Also apologies for not making clear that distington is in Cumberland, so sorry, remiss of me.
Well done for working that out, it wasn't meant to fox you.

thanks very much for your time on this.
