Hi Ben,

Welcome to RootsChat!!

It looks like the original poster, Ipw0486, hasn't been on the site since 2009.  Usually, the participants in a thread will be notified by email when another post has been added - I hope Ipw still has the same address and has received notification of your post.  ???

If you have any questions about your family, please post them.  There are lots of people here to help.  I only have a few Connahs from the Buckley area on my tree, but I have some of the Hawarden parish register transcript books (mostly baptisms).

RK (loads of relatives from the Buckley area :) :))

Hi Connah Family Researchers
This info might be of interest.
My Grand Uncle John Chilton of Saltney Ferry appears to have married Esther Connah in late 1890s.
She was born in Hawarden 1877 and died in Cheshire in 1965.
John and Esther had two children - Alice R Chilton born c. 1898 and Mary Chilton born c. 1900 , both in Hawarden.
Esther Connah lived in Bretton nearby in 1881 with her parents Benjamin and Rebecca Conman born c. 1850.
Esther' s siblings were John born 1881
                                 Thomas born 1882
                                 Hannah born 1885
                                 Benjamin
In 1901 Esther as a widow living with Hannah in Bretton, , 2 miles from Hawarden.

Any more info needed or to get in touch through this site . I am in thread chilton/Jones

Maybe an error on earlier post.
Esther Connah born circa 1850 married my great uncle John Chilton of Saltney Ferry.
Their recorded children were Walter, Harry, Herbert,Irene, Rebecca, Ett?, Mary and May.
Would appreciate any information about Esther Connah and her ancestors.

Hi,

Looking for John Chilton married to Esther Connah... I see a marriage in Hawarden, 2 July 1896.

https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:KC5T-W1Z

Approximate birth year for both is 1874 (more in line with your first post... not the 1850 you said in your second post)

This looks like Esther Connah's baptism in Broughton - 1877

https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:KC5T-CCY

Actual image shows parents Benjamin and Rebecca.

1881 census
https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:X317-51N

Banjamin - 1850  (51)
Rebecca - 1849  (52)
John - 1870  (11)
Thomas - 1872  (9)
Hannah - 1875  (6)
Esther - 1878  (3)
Banjamin - 1881 (0)

So - looking for a marriage between Benjamin Connah and a Rebecca - sometime before 1870.

This looks good.   Benjamin Connah and Rebeccah Bennion 20 Nov 1869 at St. Mary's Chester.

https://familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:FQB5-KC3

Benjamin's father is Joseph Connah and Rebeccah's father is Samuel Bennion.
