This family in 1891 has a lot in common. Are these the Wolley children with their parents? Maybe parents died, maybe Ellie Owen born Ireland is Eliza Woolley's sister and they took the children on?

Marriage
Oc/Nov/Dec1900

Bertram Flude owen
Ellie Wooley
Nottingham

so Ellie was previously a Woolley. Had she been married before I wonder or was she born a Wooley. She is from Ireland.

Hey, I went off to have lunch and this has taken on a life of its own!

What a fascinating family. I wonder why Margaret went off to have Kenneth somewhere else when she already had other offspring?

I have just been looking at the original image of the 1901 census and I don't think Ellie's age is 24. It looks like 34 to me but has actually been transcribed as 54 by Ancestry. Either way, it would make a fourteen year old daughter more likely.

That makes sense then - the children would be hers from a previous marriage.

I just wonder if she is the same person as the Eliza I found in 1891 - if that is her with first husband?

I also wonder if thje Margaret E who may or may not have married Harry Gough (remeber him? thats where this thread started) was actually MArtha E.

I think getting a birth cert for one of the Gough children is vital.

yes there is a 2nd marriage in there

Sara Owen was married 2x then became a woolley. I am totally confused now!

What relationship is Sara to Bertram?

and I just found out that Harry Gough who married Margaret E Woolley, was NOT margaret....she went by Margaret because she liked the name but her real name was Martha!

I am totally lost now!

Who is Sara? where does she come in?

(Had a feeling Margaret was MArtha! see my last post.
We have her in the censuses, even if not her marriage)

Mary Ann, dau, 17
james, 9, grandson born Woolwich, Kent

Edith, 1 gd,                        Aldershot

This looks like the same Edith as on the 1891 but it doesn't help with the whereabouts of Eliza, sorry.
