Hi,

There is a Buckby St., Pallarenda, a suburb of Townsville.  I know that the local family history volunteers are very helpful.  Check out the following:

http://www.fhanq.org/aboutus.html

The above will give you links to such societies/places as  Charters Towers. They have a lot of local knowledge. Best wishes, Gazania

David's son wrote the  letter for David in  1962.  The son's initials are H. C.

He refers to Harvey James being David's twin, but this appears to be incorrect.

The world War 2 nominal index gives David's date of birth as 25/10/1895.[He enlisted for both wars.]

The twin to Harvey James was Joseph Harvey and they were born in 1894.

When  you  have a  look  at  the  NAA records  you  will  see the description for David  is  pretty well  the same as  his twin  brother Harvey James Buckby  perhaps it was a case of a name given at birth  but allways called David (I have this in  my family).

you  will  also  note  the mother's address is  the same.

Yet  the electoral rolls  don't have A David Buckby  but do  have Joseph Harvey Buckby.
