Hi Gary (& Sue)

It is great to see someone else researching the same family. Are we allowed to swop email addresses on here?

I expect there will be a link at some stage between my Puffetts and yours Gary, because they both go back to Filkins.

Probably the link would be in the 1700s somewhere.

Grace

Hi

My name is Puffett and I have traced my ancestor to the Filkins area

Thomas Puffett   b 1821      m     Ann Puffett   b  1827
           |
Goerge Puffett   b 1854      m      Ann Puffett  b  1855

Goerge Puffett had 13 children and the tree gets to large to type up on here.

I recently went to a christening in South Cerney in Gloucestershire and there were about 20 puffetts there and many still live in and around the area.

I would be interested in shared any information on the puffetts, my email address is (*)

Hi Andy
Great to hear from you. I love the photo!
I haven't had time to do much genealogy in recent months, but I'd be very interested in the family tree you have. I'll email you.
The moderator has sent me a personal message on here to say your email address has been removed, but she has told me what it is.

[Hi Gary,  My dads father is Albert Edward Puffett (1910) who is the son of William Puffett and Maria Gardner.  Who was your father, was it William (1901) Sidney (1904), James 1909), or Victor Alexander (Alberts Twin 1910).  I have just started researching and would love to hear what you know because you may be my 2nd cousins.

My mother's maiden name was Puffett and I have traced our Puffett family tree back to Filkins and Broadwell.

John and Mary Puffett had 8 children.
Henry (b.1780) married Sabina Cook they had 3 children
John (b.1809) married Dinah they had 3 surviving children
William (b.1834) married Jane Leaver (Laver) I think they had 10 children
Mary Anne Puffett daughter of William and Jane had an illegitimate child Alfred Thomas Puffett who was my grandfather.
I became interested in the family history because of the unusual name and because the Puffetts didn't look like their neighbours, Mary Anne Puffett (b.1865) was small, had sallow skin, very dark hair which even in old age did not go grey and the same was true for her son Alfred Puffett.  I would love to know if this gene for hair and colouring comes from the Puffett side of the family or if it came in via a female line.  As a child I was told that some Puffetts had gone to Africa - so am I connected to the South African Puffetts?
