My 4th g gf is Richard Bateman (1789-1860) of Kirby Lonsdale, Westmorland, married Mary Kitchen (1791-1852). From Ancestry.com his father may be Thomas Bateman (1753-1806) and his grandfather possibly Thomas Bateman (1721-1790) then Lawrence Bateman (1703-1772) and Lawrence Bateman (around 1650-1700) but I'm not at all confident in these earlier connections. Would be great if anyone has information to help. Thanks.

Hello Dave , Had a look at Kirkby Lonsdales records , The Richard Bateman born 1789 was bap june 1st born 2nd feb , parents John / Margaret of Caserton , hope that helps , westlass

 Hello , I got my copy of records from Cumbria Family History Society , but they only go to 1812 , Think John Bateman was married to a Margaret Storey in 1785 , John father looks to be Matthew . happy hunting , westlass
