Hi Marc,  I'm a little confused!!Are you sure your grandad was Peter Cunningham?

Patrick Cunningham who was excuted in 1923 father was Timothy Cunningham and mother was Bridget.  Their eldest son also Timothy was my grandad.  I'm attaching copy of 1901 & 1911 census which in 1911 shows Patrick age 9 and Mary (perhaps your grandmother??) age 5.

My mother's father Timothy(Tim) also married a Bridget (Grennan) and also called their first son Timothy!!  They also lived in Tae Lane (I joke with my mother about the usage of the same names in family, but that was tradition in those days) She also called her first son Timothy ( my Brother!!).

i have uncovered an article about the execution that i can send you but its too big to post here.

I wonder then if peter and patrick are brothers?

Neeoc - Peters' fathers name is James.... Can you check to see if thet share this name?  Thanks

Hi Marc,

I have a great interest in family history and in particular family's of the Midlands and Tullamore,I came across this story of the 3 lads shot in Birr back a long time ago and I pass the 3 graves in Tullamore twice a week,If your in the area you should call to the cemetery.
I don't want to drift away but when you see why the lads were executed and you compare this to what the bankers and politicians have done to our country you would ask questions.
There is still a family of Cunninghams in Tullamore and they would be of old stock and they have Franks,Patricks etc. in the family which was brought down from generations I would suspect that these would be from the same family.Do you have any other info on you family tree other than whats on this ?
If you have and you send it to me I will follow up with the Cunninghams here and see if they are your relations. ( Maybe your sorted already )

Regards
Sean
