1930 Census  Grandview, Yakima Co., Washington

Ruchty, Harvey B., age 42, married, age at 1st marriage - 29, born Kansas, parents born Kansas, occupation - laborer, odd jobs
wife Ellen, age 37, married, age at 1st marriage - 24, born England, parents born England, immigrated unknown year, naturalized, no occupation
daugher Hazel L., age 11, born Washington
son George E., age 8, born Washington

I found a WWI Draft Registration Card for Harvey Burton Ruchty born 22 Jan. 1886, age 32, living at Puget Route, Olympia, Washington.  His wife was Cissy Ellen Ruchty.

No problem!

I also found them in the 1920 Census.
Woodward Valley, Thurston Co., Washington
Ruchty, Harvey B., age 33, married, born Kansas, parents born Illinois, mill worker
wife Cissy, age 25, married, immigration year unknown, naturalized, born England, parents born England
daughter Hazel, 1 year 8 months, born Washington

In the Washington birth index, there is a female born 24 Apr 1915 in Thurston.  She's listed as Ruchty Ruchty (not sure if that's a typo or what).  Her father's name is Harry B. Ruchty, and her mother's name is listed as Lizzy Martin.  Thought that might be a mistranscription of Cissy.

I'll see if there's anything else of note.

I found George among Korean War casualities.  He died of wounds on 8 Feb 1951.  He was a master sergeant in the US Army.  He was born 1921 and his home city was Snohomish, Washington.

It looks like George did enlist in the Army National Guard on 16 Sep 1940.  His native state was Washington and he was born 1921.  He had 3 years of high school, was single without dependents, and worked as Actor or Director, Motion Picture or Entertainer.  He was 72 inches tall and 160 pounds.

In a veterans' gravesite database, it says George Edgar Ruchty, born 29 Nov 1921 and died 9 Feb. 1951 was interred at Ft. Lawton Post Cemetery in Tacoma, Washington on 23 Oct. 1951.  He was buried at Section I Site 164.  His service information says M/SGT CO A 19TH INF 24TH DIV INF.

If I find anything on possible living relatives, I'll send you a private message.

There's a website that lists Harvey Burton Ruchty as born Jan. 1886 and died 12 Jul 1961.   http://www.historyofthepathstaken.com/Vian.html  (There's noisy music on there, so beware.   ;))  He seems to be listed here:  http://files.usgwarchives.org/wa/thurston/cemeteries/ioof-rt.txt

I found a newspaper article from the Tri-City Herald, Pasco, Washington from 24 Jan. 1969 that says there was a marriage license application in Benton County for Elmer G. Ross of Prosser and Ellen Ruchty of Grandview.  Not sure if that's your Ellen, but it seemed like a possibility
