« on: Monday 06 October 08 17:29 BST (UK) »
Hi there I'm still waiting in hope that someone can help me locate any relatives of mine who maybe had a grandmother or Grandfather who was a decendent of John Marks (Color Sergeant in the66thfoot reg )
served in India in 1860 . This man was my Great Granddad and returned to Birr in about 1872

Hi

On the LDS website, there is a John Marks born 1832, died 19 OCT 1886  Crinkill, Offaly, Ireland.

It might be worth having someone check out this man to see if he was your relative.  You'll probably find details of other family members in that area too - if he had any family.

Cheers

Hi,
My name is James Marks, I live in roscrea. My father was Paddy Marks of Townsend Street, Birr that you refer to above.
His parents were James Marks and Jane Marks (nee Price)
Paddy (Patrick) was an only child.
Hope this helps.
You can contact me if you wish, I have quite a Bit about the family tree.
Yours
James marks
