William Elliott
« on: Monday 06 October 08 21:33 BST (UK) »
I have the Marriage Certificate of James Elliott b. Flintshire c 1806 To Catherine Reece. This took place in The Chapel of Tilstock Salop on Jan 10th 1850. James age 43 & Catherine age 30.
James Father is one William Elliott---- I am trying to find William's wife & I would like to know when William married & his birth & death dates.
Any help or ideas appreciated.

I have found James & Catherine on 1861 census but I seem unable to go backwards.

Hello, does the census or marriage certificate say where in Flintshire
James was born?

Paul.

I believe that James was born Iscoyd.
When he married Catherine he was living Whichurch Salop She came from Tilstock.

Paul--I have just had the map out & there is no place named Iscoyd --this came from a cousin.
I have rechecked 1851 census & it says James born Tocoyll ---this does not appear on my map.
But the 1861 census gives James birthplace as Malpas.
No wonder I cannot find his father!!
