Hi All

I have just been given transcriptions of the Burwash Registers to put on line for others research - so if any one wants a look up, this is what I have.

St Bartholomews Church, Burwash.

Baptisms: 1755 - 1848 (just under 5000 entries)

Marriages: 1699 - 1812  (Approx 1000 entries)

Burials: 1787 - 1798  (Ongoing Transcription)

I am looking for the Eastwood Family from Burwash? Does anyone know why they all left, we have some Eastwoods and Eastwood Holmes found in later census /records who married into travelling families and moved towards Kent?

many thanks for this, we have found some in a visit to the records office but have had difficulty verifying some records.

zozo you beat me to it, I was going to ask Chris to look up the Eastwood family  thanks zozo and thanks Chris 

Mind you the one I'm really interested, John 1679 is a bit earlier than that so I will have to go back to Lewes sometime and check Burwash.

BTW for information

Curate of Shogswell? - this is Shoyswell, a beautiful old timber frame manor house between Burwash and Etchingham, once was an Iron Master's house and I believe a Pilbeam  lived there once.
