My Paternal Grandmother Mary Rickman (nee Collins) from Waterford City
« on: Thursday 16 October 08 15:43 BST (UK) »
I'm trying to trace the roots of my paternal grandmother Mary Catherine Rickman
(nee Collins) born 22/11/1886, who married Henry Rickman in Waterford City 30/1/1909
Her parents were Dennis & Mary (nee Quinlan) he was an army pensioner and I believe
that they lived in Mount Sion Avenue Waterford. The only other thing that I know is that
Henry was in the Cavalry barracks in Waterford and he along with Mary went to live
in England not too long after their wedding.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated

Hi, and welcome to Roots Chat  :)

I'm afraid I can't help you with Irish research, because I have no experience in that area, but I've asked a moderator to move your post to the section which deals with Irish ancestors, where there will be people with experience in this area.

Nick.

Zish and croxley- you'll have to make a few more posts on Rootschat before either of you can use pm (personal message) system here. After that you will be able to exchange details of living relatives, email addresses, etc. which can't be posted online.

Hi Zish
I'm from the Rickman side, my father was Bernard one of the sons of Henry and Catherine
We are trying to trace back on the Collins side as an Xmas present for 1 of my brothers.

Hello, I came across your search for Rickmans in the UK. I am searching for any remaining relatives of Alfred Rickman date of birth November 13th 1886/1887. This RICKMAN family was located in Fulham, Middlesex and I have been trying to locate any connections to Alfred. He is my great grandfather and served in the British navy before immigrating to the United States around 1904. From talks my grandmother and I shared, Alfred came from a large family and unfortunately migrated to the U.S.  Have many photos to share.

Please let me know. Thank you
