I found this metal cap badge in an old box at my parents house.  Has anyone any idea what it is?

Looks to be a WW1 German badge - the crown certainly is the same as the Imperial German one.

I did wonder if it was German, but on all the badges I have looked at the Eagle is facing the wrong way!
