This is so awesome! Are you a Roxborough descendant as well? My grandfather married Olive Grace Simpson....born Leicestershire, England and had 13 children, many grandchildren and now we are into the great grandchildren. My mother (Norah) is still alive although she is getting up in years. Many of her siblings have passed on though.

Goodness, there are certainly a lot of your family in Canada. Not related to the Roxborough, McMaths, Millikens or any of your connection- although your family 'persecuted' my husband's Hunter ancestors and my husband's uncle lives in old Roxborough house in Aghadowey. Have lots of family information as well as old photos of house, church, school, etc.
After you've made 1 more post we'll be able to exchange email address offline and I can send things to you.

Oh my! "persecution" yet - this is interesting!.......
The McMaths have done a lot of work on their tree and Mom used to be in touch with "Cousin Sarah" quite a lot over the years but they are both getting on in years - we are not sure but we  think Sarah is still alive.
We have no photos or mementos from Ireland  that I'm aware of so would love to see anything that you may have.
I'm looking forward to moving to the email stage.

Will send PM shortly but in the meantime here's a photo of the Roxborough's house in Aghadowey. Photo taken 1937 but it would have looked the same as uncle Willie made few changes after he married in 1905 (it was thatched until 20 years ago).

Yes it is impressive don't you think? Are you researching Roxborough's as well?

Yes, sort of, all the spellings of the name  differs, an x in the name sometimes illustrates a double s.  My family came from Ballymena in County Antrim ,have found some but I'm looking for a James and a John who  I think the went to Canada or somewhere in America not sure.  Hope someone can help.

My great grandfather was John Roxborough,  great great was also named John. My great grandfather did come to Canada in the early 1900's but I have no records relating to James spelt with an x other than 2 marriages listed in Aghadowey Parish 1 in  in 1855 to Eliza Callaghen and then again  another listing with James and Eliza with a  marriage date in 1862. I was wondering if James may be related   somehow related to my family?
