Hi Johngirl,

It seems we share a common ancestor I have only just started researching my family, and thought I'd start with where/who my surname came from. I stumbled upon this thread in my travels and thought I'd see if you'd had any luck with that elusive George Jones, John Thomas's father (and my GGGgrandfather is would seem!). I can only assume he was a convict, and you probably found out the hard way as I did how popular the name George Jones was! If you have any hints, I would really appreciate it, as my grandfather died when my father was very young and I didn't know anything other than his name and birthday until a week ago.

Hi Tessa no sorry I have yet to find where our George Jones originated from but do have quite a bit of information on George Jones's wife Ann Kemp.I also have quite a bit of information on your John Thomas Jones and his family.I even have a copy of his mug shot from when his was placed in custody for a wrong doing.
