Stanley Humblestone RAF and Clifford Walker RCAF were presumed lost on February 2, 1945, when their aircraft failed to return from a night raid on Tirstrup Aerodrome. They are remembered at the Runnymede Memorial in Surrey.

My OH's great-uncle and his pilot....how brave, how handsome...and if not for their sacrifice it would be a much different world today.

Remembering my aunt's husband, John Thomas Smith, who died on 8th February 1944, aged 24. A member of the 2nd battalion North Staffordshire Regiment, he is commemorated at the Cassino Memorial, Italy.

He never lived to see his son, born a couple of months after his death.
Best wishes, Judy :-))
