Arthur Llewelyn Bolton
« on: Wednesday 05 November 08 08:43 GMT (UK) »
:) Good Morning

I am new to the board and hopefully have posted correctly, if not always willing to learn.

I am looking for an Arthur Llewelyn Bolton born abt. 1900 I believe in Thanet. Died 28.03.1980 in Ramsgate. He was married to Lily Rose Spain (b.1899 - d.1950) and Mary - 2nd marriage (do not have info about her, but know that she passed away a couple of years ago).

I cannot seem to find any record of Arthur either birth / marriage or death and wondered if anyone could help me.

Thanks - LucyLouLou

Hi LucyLouLou - Welcome to RootsChat  :)

Do you think this could be a possible birth for him, a little older than you thought?

Birth registration
Llewellyn Arthur Bolton
December quarter 1897
Thanet 2a 923

Death registration March quarter 1980
Thanet 16 2066
Llewellyn Arthur Bolton born 4 Sep 1897

Just to confirm he was Llewellyn Arthur:

Marriage Dec 1922 Thanet 2a 2442
Llewellyn A Bolton - Lily R Spain

Now to try and find him in the 1901 census ...   :P

There's this possible boy (can't see any other contender but one never knows!)

1901
RG13/819 64 22
St Nicholas at Wade, Kent (Thanet registration district)
Brooksend Cottages

George Bolton, head, 43, Waggonner on Farm, b. Kent St Nicholas at Wade
Harriet, wife, 40, b. Chislet
Sarah, dau, 11, b. Minster
Emma, dau, 9, b. do.
Frank, son, 6, b. do.
Arthur, son, 3, b. do.

Do these names ring a bell by any chance?

:)Hi Tati

Yes that seems to be him - I was originally looking under Llewelyn Arthur on Ancestry but it said that there were non listed.

He died in 28th March 1980 so I think that is him and the marriage definitely is. With regard to the 1901 census I believe this is him also as his eldest son was called George, but will dig deeper to make sure.

Many thanks for your help.

Regards

LucyLouLou

Hi Tati

Just spoken to my husband and he said that he remembers his mother speaking about a Frank and Sarah and that Arthur's parents had connections with a farm, so I think we have the connection.

Thank you very much
