Hi Rob

Alexander may have been an only son, but there was at least one sister (probably more sisters given the age of the parents?). From the 1901 census, all showing as born in Eastwood, Renfrewshire:

Frank B Finlayson 31, law clerk
Martha A Finlayson 31
Alexander Finlayson 4
Margaret Finlayson 2

Address:1 Afton Terrace, Pollokshaws, Renfrewshire

Not quite a highlander but the plaque will look handsome in Colorado  ;)

From the CWGC web site. There were two Alexander Finlaysons, one killed on 20 and one on 22 March 1918

Hi, my great, great uncle was Alexander Finlayson.  He was the son of Hugh and Elspet Finlayson.

Hi Bruce

I have some photos of the family not many but I do have a few.  My granny and I went through the them and put names to the faces in the photographs.  Sadly my granny passed away in 2010.
