Scottish coal pit accident
« on: Saturday 08 November 08 19:56 GMT (UK) »
Hi all,
I'm looking for information on the death of a James Peggie. He died 25 jun 1852 due to an accident at west wemyss victoria pit. He was an engineman who lived in wemyss with his wife jane Russel. He was born c1821 in wemyss. I'm finding it difficult to find information on scottish deaths before 1855, but i'm intrigued to know how exactly james Peggie died, and if he died in a hospital or at the pit.
Thanks

Have just looked on the Scotland board and found in the resources

Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any records pre 1852. You could put a request on the scotland board.Someone is bound to know something about it
