Sorry, I checked in the library today but they only had the electoral rolls up to 1914-15 and then from 1925.

In 1914-15 the resident of number 2 was John Roberts.

It needs a check in the Archives - can't go this week, but if no-one else can get the answer for you, I'll try and go next week.

Hi Bevbee
I wonder if you will still be able to discover the occupants of 2 Uplands Terrace in 1917 this week -we seem to have gone off on a tangent with the Margaret Jenkins reference.  Your help would be much appreciated :)

Hi WexDor,

The Trade Directories for 1914 and 1920 record the occupant  as John Roberts.

The Electoral Roll for 1918 records the occupants as John Roberts and Margaret Roberts.

There is no Electoral Roll for 1917.

I don't know whether that helps at all.  ???

Hi Bevbee,

I really appreciate you taking time to check this for me......no, I do need to know who occupied this house in 1917 but, of course, there is no electoral roll :(     I guess that this is one query that will remain unanswered :(   I do know that there is a possibility that the property was owned by one of my ancestors and rented out during those years.   Still, something may turn up....but I am grateful to you for your help :)

Well, if John Roberts was there in 1914, 1918 and 1920 presumably he must also have been there in 1917?  ???

Thanks again for checking this out!  The difficulty I have is concerning a family death certificate which indicates a name other than John Roberts at the address in 1917 and this has thrown some family research into confusion.....I had a feeling that there would be more to this than met the eye... ;)  Still, I will move on in another direction and hopefully come back to this again sometime!
