James........Yes that is as far back as I have gone and have not come across anyone else that has managed to go beyond James and Rebecca.  Maybe the records do not exist to be successful with that but only time will tell.

I do wish you luck with Mary Ann Hawkins, admittedly I have not read through your whole thread so am not familiar with your connections to her.

Mary Ann Hawkins is my 2nd Great Grandmother, so quite an important person in my tree.

So you don't believe your James Livermore is the son of James Livermore of Felstead?

Back to the Hawkins.

I have now been in contact with my 2nd cousin and he says Richard Hawkins is noted as a Farmer on the marriage certificate of Mary Ann Hawkins to John Charles Yeowell.

So this probably rules out the Richard Hawkins who was a butcher and moved to Henley-on-Thames.

Now my interests lie with the Richard Hawkins who was married to Sarah and had two children in Great Marlow in the 1820s.  He was a Labourer, which could mean Agricultural Labourer and thus Farmer.

I so do hope you find her being such an important part of your family tree.

I have to sign out now but will have another look around for you later and no doubt Gazania will try again also.

Will pm you about the Livermores later.

Regarding the above 1841 census that Gazania has listed for you, I have followed them through a couple of later census and Sarah 1796 born Amersham Bucks is still there in the 1861 census in Wooburn, reg area is Wycombe.

1851 census gives Sarah and daughters Emma, Olive and Elizabeth still at home.  A couple of the children are there still in Wooburn after they marry in later years.  All of the children give Wooburn as their place of birth and it is situated about two and a half miles from Little Marlow according to Genuki.

Just thought this could help you either eliminate them or keep wondering.

Carole,

Is there a later census entry for Charles Hawkins in Wooburn?

It's just that there was a Charles Hawkins christened in Great Marlow in  1824... however, this individual died in 1849 aged 27 and was buried in Great Marlow.  He was son of a Richard Hawkins and Sarah.

If he is absent after 1851, then there still is a chance this could be the correct family.  If there is a Charles Hawkins in Wooburn in the 1851 census, then I can possibly rule this family out.  Or at least rule them out as possibly being linked to Great Marlow.

Best regards,

James R. Yeowell.

Is there a later census entry for Charles Hawkins in Wooburn?

A Charles Hawkins is in the 1851 census, Wooburn,  b 1819, wife Susannah, children Emily and William J.

In 1861 census Susannah is a widow, still in Wooburn with son William James.

Would not match with Charles, son of Richard and Sarah though as this Charles died in 1849.  Just mentioning that this Charles is the only one that shows up born Buckinghamshire with birth year 1819 + 5 yrs (1841)

Carole, et al.,

It therefore seems that this Wooburn family is not linked to the one in Great Marlow.  This is very frustrating indeed!

I am hoping something comes from all this searching soon though... she has to be out there somewhere!

Thanks for the help everybody, it has been much appreciated.  I am hoping on a few more searches yet though!

Regards,

James R. Yeowell.
