Hi, new to the site so have just found your post. Emily Sarah ANSELL was the sister of my G.Grandfather Edwin ANSELL. My line emigrated to Oz in the 1920's. If there are any gaps I can fill in let me know and I'll do what I can.

Can you tell me who they were and when they came please ?

I am trying to search the daughters of Emily Sarah ANSELL.
She married John Zachariah BIDDLE in Rome Italy 1858
She returned to London England as a widow after 1872 with her two daughters.

I found her daughter, Annie BIDDLE, working as a servant at 17 and 18 Dover Street London Middlesex England
She is aged 17 years in the 1881 census

 her daughter Caroline BIDDLE is aged 22 years and working as a servant ,a Hotel Bookkeeper at the Alexandra Hotel Eversfield Place in Hastings Sussex England  in the 1891 Census

Is there anyone in your line who has done research on the ANSELL/BIDDLE family ?

There is a confusion in the census entry on birthplaces. It seems the census enumerator has made a mistake when copying out the household schedules into his book - comparing with the birthplaces on the 1891 census in Wandsworth. On the 1901 census Gordon is born in Rome and Annie in Dublin and Henry in Marylebone. The 1891 census gives Henry's birth place as Ireland, Annie's as Italy and Gordon's as London.

Therefore the 1901 census birthplaces should almost certainly read
Dublin
Rome BS
London (City)
Wandsworth London

Greetings from London! Originally from NZ.
I am new on this site but came across a family connection.
I am related to Henry Jabez Ansell born Peckham, London  1844 - brother to Emily Sarah Ansell.
Has anyone located any information about him I can cross examine.
1878 he married Ellen Seager and I found family in census up until 1891 then Ellen and Henry Ansell disappear?!
My ancester George Henry Jabez Ansell emigrated to NZ 1903 from Ilford, England.
I have done research while living in London.
John (Blacksmith) and Mary Jones Ansell  - married Greenwich, London - parents to William Charles Ansell born 1810 Deptford.
