ARCHBELL - All
« on: Sunday 23 November 08 16:50 GMT (UK) »
Hi:  I'm interested in the Archbell surname (my grandmother's maiden name), especially those emanating from Tadcaster and the surrounding areas, although some have escaped to other areas of the UK, and abroad!!  I do have a lot of names and have managed to link most of the UK ones, but I would be pleased to hear from anyone coming across this surname.

Look forward to hearing from you.

In my opinion the marriage residence is not always the place of birth. Never forget Workhouse and overseers accounts records of birth

Hello!

I'm also currently researching the Archbell family name (my surname) - have gotten as far back as George Archbell in Tadcaster, b. 1776, to one Catherine Crossland.

Would be interested in seeing your research, as I have both the Appleyard surname and the Archbell surname on the tree, so I can guess how we're related already!

All the best,

PhantomBelle

Welcome to RootsChat  ;D

And I DEFINITELY want to make contact with you.  And we are talking about the same family - I'm descended from Catherine, George, George, James, and Annie was my grandmother.

Look forward to hearing more from you.

Hi BumbleB,

If you message me, I'm happy to share with you the ancestry tree I've done so far of the Archbells - the farther they go back, the more difficult it is to piece them all together.

I wish my grandfather was still around, as he might've known your grandmother (his aunt), and it would've been lovely to reconnect.

I actually joined RootsChat as a family member linked me to your post - glad this has worked out!

Hello!

One more post here - I'm from the line of William (Annie's brother), and his son James, and then my father, and then me.

Looking forward to further contact!
