Hi Jack,

this is a long shot, (don't laugh  ) but I have to ask. I am looking for any Whittakers in Tullamore/Birr. I have them there in 1845. then I lose them. I just wondered if there are any still there, they me be the same family.

Hi,

My farther was a Rody Harte from New Road Birr Co. Offaly. His mother is Anne Harte, formally Doyle from Kenmare Co. Kerry (still alive 93 yo) and farther was Michael Harte, died at 50+ years in 1970.

My farther is one of seven children, sadly he died in 1984. However all others are still alive, most living in Birr.

I would be very interested in any information you have on the name. I now live in Hampshire UK, but am intrigued by the history of the name in Birr.
