hello osprey, thankyou for your reply, but i seem to be going around in circles,i cannot apply to the gro without an index number. i have applied to the local record office the one for llanwrtyd wells would be in llandrindod wells i have been told they have no record of a thomas price marriage to a mary price for around the time of 1865 to 1869, i have also tried the brecon office and the carmarthanshire office (no luck there either) i have also tried the knighton office as well.thankyou again jan.

What about the marriage registered in Hay?  As Thomas was a plate-layer he would have moved around, so they might have married away from her home? Or after the birth of their first child? Or possibly not at all...

What about other offices which have some Breconshire marriages? Merthyr Tydfil, Blaenau Gwent, Neath?

hello, thankyou for the very kind replies,i have tried the hay office that drew a blank,i will have a look at the shifnal office because as you say they may have moved around with thomas being on the railway,i was of the mind that they would have married in the brides home town of llanwrtyd wells.
