Hi Sophie,

No offence taken - Brown is just not an easy name to research with little information.

I have looked through all the Elizabeth's and Thomas' in 1891 and can't really see a "match"
( I found this entry -which is probably nothing to do with your family -but I just hadn't seen an entry like this before - I found a Thomas and Elizabeth Bagnall- with a son - the son was 2 days old (not 2 years ) and was entered as  "baby to be named Thomas" )

I may be well off beam thinking Thomas wasn't a Brown -but if this turns out to be so  there is a marriage regFreeBMD

one of the females on the page is Elizabeth Attwood
but I can't find a likely candidate for  her either?

I think the way forward is to purchase a birth cert for one of the younger children -and then when you have mother's maiden name find the correct marriage and send for that certificate .

Have you any other ideas?

There is also a marriage of Albert Brown (no middle name )possibly to Elizabeth Evans.

Would be pleased to hear mother's name on birth cert

Hi both  :)

Just wondering, Sophie - you say her father Albert Edward Brown was a witness. How do you know it was her father?
I'm asking because in my own tree, witnesses are more often siblings than parents, and I suspect that her younger brother was actually Albert Edward.

Does it say Albert Edward Brown under the father heading?  :)

Sophie,

Hi Suz, Birmingham BMD could not find Lily Agatha BROWN birth,I heard today. I guess it was because I could not give a REG number I could only give an approx year of birth. Not to worry.I shall have to leave it at that. But thanks so much for your help.
