Hi Mary,

You can check out http://www.olivetreegenealogy.com/ships/toausp04.shtml it has some information on ships during that time.

If it's after 1890 you can try www.ancestorsonboard.com

Huck - Alsace, France

Hi Karen.
Thanks for your reply. I,m not even sure the ones I,m looking for actually went to Aust. but can find no trace of them in Scotland after the 1871 census. A sister and family emigrated in 1852so wondering if they did the same.

Most of the shipping lists in Australia are by state until c. 1920. If you check the Australian resorces board you will find links to shipping into each state.

The online goverment sites (usually archives) have free indexes. There are also some lists for NSW on Ancestry, but much of this is also available from the archives.

If you post some details on the immigrants to Oz board (also mentioning the state where the sister settled)  I'm sure you will receive lots of help.

Hello Mary

This site has information about passengers and ships arriving in Australia from 1845. You can even download a copy of the original document.

Hi Trish and Leighton,
Thanks for the info. I,ve had a quick look at these sites. Trouble is I havn,t a clue as to when and if they went to Oz.
It,s like looking for the needle in the haystack.
I had a posting on the Oz board a few days back but didn,t get much of a response, maybe I shoud give it another try.

Hi Mary

I'm sorry I missed it - I notice on the Oz thread you mentioned the sister went to Victoria. These are the main 2 Vic immigrant online lists

http://proarchives.imagineering.com.au/index_search.asp?searchid=24

I'll add to your Oz post and  see if there is any more info
