Many thanks Kris. ;D  Thats great.

I found a son baptised to this couple on the Cornwall bap. index in 1790, seems to be no more children in Cornwall.
On the IGI there is a daughter bap. to a John and Joanna in Southwark Surrey in 1795, so am wondering if its them.
At least I know John was married before.

Thank you very much.

Hi Sue,

Does William NECK of Christ Church Surry[sic] mean anything?

He married Amelia WILMOTT in Launceston 13 May 1812 by licence

Oh wow, this gets even better.

I am trying to track a John Knills Neck who according to census records was born Christchurch Surrey,c1800. This John was married to an Emily( haven't found a marriage yet). I strongly suspect that his Emily may have been the mother of my 2x g.grandmother, but have yet to prove it.

Thanks so much.

Been doing a bit of digging and found the following burial.

 Amelia  NECK
Date of burial: 11 February 1813
Place of burial: St Saviour, Southwark
Age at death: 23
Approximate year of birth: 1790
Address at death: Christ Church

A possible second marriage from the IGI

William Neck
Lucina Lloyd

19th July, 1815 = St. Giles, Camberwell.

This couple are living in Camberwell in 1841.

1851 census states William born Launceston.

I noticed that both the marriages are by licence. If the church copies of licences survive, they are in the Devon Record Office. I've had one from there recently. You can email the office with parish, dates and names and they let you know if they can find them and the price. The licence is a set form, but gives parishes and signatures - the witness name might help. And all for the princely sum of £1.60!
