Help with deciphering a name COMPLETED -thanks
« on: Tuesday 09 December 08 20:41 GMT (UK) »
Hello,

Need help deciphering a name of death informant from a certificate for sub-district Westoe in the county of Sth Shields and Durham in 1893.  Purchased a death certificate that seemed likely to be an ancestor I was searching for, now not so sure, so need name of the informant to make a decision.

Could someone please check on the 1891 Census for the address below and its occupants.
The address the informant lived at was 24 Heron Street, Westoe.
His name is ??????   Initials R.F.   Holt, Stott, Stoll.  Can`t decipher it. He would probably be head of the house.
Thanks,
Hinton.

I dont think its possible to do just an address search  :-\ and without his age its difficult.

If you could scan, copy and post here just that part of the certificate. we might be able to decipher it for you.  :-\

Will have a look - is it the same piece and folio as the one I looked at?

The descriptions of the enumertion districts are very detailed but no South side and no R  Holt. It might be easier, as Patrish says to put up a snip of his name on the death cert.

Hinton,

If your route via the Register Office informant fails to give you the corroboration you seek, what about other factors to confirm or eliminate this death registration.
