Mary J Stone

Hi, I am looking for a Mary J Stone born in Ireland in 1862 (or around there), unfortunately, I don't know where. She had definately left Ireland by the 1881 census as she appears in Lancashire & was married in 1888 to Richard Wright in London. Could anyone help me find her in Ireland? This is the first search I've had to do in Ireland so don't really know anything about censuses etc so any help would be appreciated. Many thanks NicoX

Hi,

If she was born in 1862, this was before general registration started so you need to know the parish to find her in parish records. Do you have the name of her father from her marriage? You may be able to find him in the Griffiths Valuation. See my website for a beginners guide to what's where.

Many thanks, Kate & Audrey! I have since found out that she was born in Dublin (oh why couldn't it have been a nice little village in Sligo where my mother lives!)! So will try looking for her there. Nicolette X
