Note to Mary
If you lived at Ladymount in the late sixties, you were there around the same time as I was.
Temporary accommodation!

And thank you,  for buying and posting the excellent photo of Ladymount, it was nice to see again after all these years, despite my memories of my time there.
In it's day, it must have been a grand house, giving joy to the very wealthy that built it, and towards it's demise, shelter to the very poor.

Maz Hi you are looking into Ladymount in Wallington. Did you know it was a private school up till 1959/60 when the headmistress retired? I went to Ladymount from 1953 untill it closed as well as my sister. I have photos of the front lawn with us maypole dancing and also the steps up to the front door with some of the pupils on them. We sports day one year and a pageant the next. This was alternated. Let me know how your search is going and how you are connected with Ladymount. I have just found your info request so I have joined up today to try and help. Regards Bob

My connection with Ladymount School goes back to around 1952 when I attended the school as an infant. I was excited to see the old photo of it here on Rootschat. At the time I was living in Wallington and one of the teachers used to accompany me to school on the bus.I think her name was Miss Blackstone.
