Hi and welcome to Rootschat

Are you seeking info about the family post-1916?

Or are you tracing their ancestry prior to 1916?

If you are looking for pre-1916 info - could you tell us the christian names and approx birthyears of the Scott family

I am mainly looking for more information on my Great Uncle after who I was named
SERJEANT RICHARD DAVID SCOTT 7751 of the 8th Battalion The Scots Fusiliers who died on 11th of July 1916 and is buried in Salonika. He was born in Basford in 1883 and was the Son of James and Annie Scott, of 25, David Square, David Lane, Old Basford, Nottingham. He had a sister Emma who was my Grandmother a brother James William and I think a sister Annie. When my Grandma married my Grandad in about 1902 her family was against the match and cut her off with the exception of Richard David Scott. When he was killed her connection with the family ended therefore my knowledge of that side of the family is very sketchy! I have got the census for 1901 which has the family living at 4 Pepper Place Palm Street Basford. Any information would be super

Hi

His baby sister was Mary E who was 2 yrs old in 1901 - quite a big gap in ages as James W was then 15

There were no other children as I checked the 1891 census.

I think this is their marriage from freebmd

Marriages June qtr 1880

James Scott       Basford  7b 139
Ann Smith       Basford  7b 139

Richard is on the Medal Roll Index on Ancestry and was awarded 3 medals.  I have downloaded the image and if you want it - send me a pm with your email address

Per freebmd - his brother James William married in 1908

Marriages December qtr 1908

SCOTT  James William     Nottingham  7b 647 to either Caroline Trick or Lilian Elizabeth Hutchby

Did Richard marry as I can't find a marriage entry that shows Richard David.

There is a 1907 marriage of a Richard Scott to either Annie Baines or Mary Wilkinson
